About the event
Bring the 2 garments you want to upcycle. You are going to explore, tie-dye/shibori, itajime resist dye technique. This is NOT how to make indigo vat workshop. However, I will explain how I make vat and tell all about indigo dyeing chemical reactions.
*Please prewash the garments.
*1 item has to be less than 5oz/140gm. (Men's t-shirt is about 5oz)
*The fabric has to be natural plant-base fiber such as linen, cotton, bumboo or hemp. If you want to bring Wool string or silk, let me know.
*Denim, sneaker, sweater, bed sheets are not allowed. (They absorb so much dye and weaken the vat.)
