Maki Teshima's recent mobile series is using recycled used t-shirts she collects from her community and ridwell organization.

Lush is composed of botanically dyed recycled T-shirts and her first handwoven basket, created after studying with a Cherokee basket weaver in Denver. The work reflects her love for natural color and traditional craft while celebrating the transformation of everyday materials.

Originally created for a ramen restaurant in Denver, this suspended mobile evolved after the owner returned to Japan. Additional objects were incorporated to explore the connections and crossings between people, memories, and objects. As the elements move, their shadows shift and overlap, reflecting the ways our connections continue to change over time.
