About the event
November, 2018 is Areca Nuts Dyeing Month at T.I.A.N. studio!
Areca nuts(betel nuts) are used for chewing tobacco in India and South East Asia. In some area, it is banned because of the spit on the ground ( AND the entire teeth) is bright red to pink!
I will show you where I get this nuts and other reasonable natural dyeing materials in Jackson Heights, Queens. (Shopping time is about 30min)
You are going to explore dyeing with it in order to get beautiful pink hues.
*Pre mordanted cotton bandanna and a piece of linen are going to be provided. If you want to bring your own fabrics, email me.
*Maki works with only plant based fabrics such as cotton and linen
*Experience with art, dyeing is not necessary at all!
