You can experience dyeing with Areca Nuts that Maki used to create pink colors for her new mobile artwork, Into the West displayed at BRDG Project. Soy bonded cotton bandanna(17" x17") will be provided. There are 2 time slots available: 12:30-2:00pm & 2:00-3:30pm

About the event

Areca Nuts/ Betel Nuts/ Binrouji  are very popular as chewing tobaco in all over South East Asia. It has been used for medicinal purposes and also dyeing fabrics to create peach, pink and grey-black colors for centuries. I will make pink dye bath and iron bath for grey color. You will have an option to do Shibori tie dye and paint with iron grey as well.

*20% of the ticket sales go to BRDG Gallery to maintain to have shows!

*Parking around the gallery is not easy. Please take time to arrive to the gallery
