About the event

  • We will have light snacks & music. A great opportunity to have fun on Monday night! Kuniya Hair was opened in the heart of Midtown last year. (Between E53 & E54 St on 2nd Avenue) The salon owner, Masa worked as a hair stylist in Japan, Australia and NYC for years before opening his dream salon.
  • We will have mini natural indigo vats at the event. Bring your own stuff to upcycle! (Fabrics have to be less than 200 gm, about the size of a Men's medium t-shirt) We can explore various "resist dye" techniques like shibori, tie dye together to make fun patterns.
  • You can stop by for free. To dye, this is a CASH ONLY EVENT. $25 for 1 item to dye with natural indigo. You can purchase cotton bandana, bamboo socks for extra $5. 10% of all sales will be donated to The Nature Conservancy https://www.nature.org/en-us/
  • We will have a special pop up market, at which you can purchase 'Tomorrow Is Always New' naturally hand dyed organic cotton bags and farmers market bags for a special price, $20-$25! ( regular price $35) Let's start using these cute Eco bags to replace plastics bags : )
